he Trigg County High School archery team picked up another national championship Saturday in the National Archery in the Schools Program’s national championship Saturday in Louisville. The Arrowcats combined for a team score of 3453, breaking a record set last year. Trigg’s middle school team finished with 3348 points, and the elementary team had 3267. Both placed second in their divisions. All three teams will advance to the World Competition set for June 28-30 in St. Louis, Mo.

The Arrowcats were led individually by Lora Lee Heady, who placed fourth in the middle school female division, and Clay Stevens, who won the middle school male division. Stevens and Jake MacNab, a high school archer, qualified for the NASP All-American Team, which is made up of the top scoring archers in the nation. Stevens and MacNab will compete in the 2013 NASP All-Star World Championships, set for July 22-27 in South Africa.
