Chapter 1730 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) met on Wednesday, May 8, at 10 a.m. in the Cadiz Senior Center. This was the chapter’s final meeting before summer recess.

President Richard Pauze opened the meeting and called on Chapter Chaplain Clyde Weaver to present the invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance followed the invocation.

Minutes of the Meeting were read and approved. Treasurer Jim Mustian gave the treasury report. He also offered some raffle tickets to support NARFE’s fund for Alzheimer’s Research.

Pauze introduced the newly elected Federation Vice President, Tom Diaz. Diaz is retired from career with the Corps of Engineers spending a large part of his career working at the lock and dam on the Ohio River.

Diaz became a member of NARFE in 2001. Diaz is responsible for creating the website entitled NARFEKentucky.org. It is intended to keep Kentucky members of NARFE informed about local issues.
