Memorial services for William “Bill” Hendon, 50, of Cadiz, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz. Visitation will begin at noon until the service hour. Jimmy Jr. Hendon and The Rev. OD Boyd will officiate. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

William Hendon died of natural causes at 2 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 27, 1962, in Hammond, Ind., to Bobbie and Carlea Hendon.

William was a member of the Erven Avenue Baptist Church in Streator, Ill. He was an auto cad operator and was a United States Army veteran, having served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Art and Gertha Hendon and Almon and Bernice Mann; uncles, William B. Hendon and Charles A. Mann (and wife Josephine); and aunt Frances Oakley.

He is survived by his parents, Bobbie and Carlea Hendon of Cadiz; one sister Rhonda Hendon Musselman (and husband Rob) of Peoria, Ill.; two nephews, Andrew Hendon of Peoria, Ill. and Scott Musselman (and wife Rachel) of Belleville, Ill.; niece Cari Lee Musselman of Peoria, Ill.; special friend Marianne Johnson of Cadiz; aunts and uncles Jim and Hazel Hendon of Cadiz, Tom and Ann Hendon of Indianapolis, Ind., Toni and Glenn Keilmann of Rensselaer, Ind., Jackie Talley of Merriville, Ind. and Roger Oakley of Cadiz; and a number of cousins.
