Sunday was Trigg County Youth Athletic Association Day at the Bowling Green Hot Rods park.

TCYAA players and their families enjoyed watching the Hot Rods, an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, take on the South Bend Silverhawks, as well as many activities that went along with the game.

Throwing out first pitches before the game were Jake Terrell and Nolan Manzer. During the pre-game National Anthem, several TCYAA players stood on the field with Hot Rods players, and others helped hold a large American flag in the outfield, in honor of our many men and women in our Armed Forces.

Several players and parents were able to participate in games and activities between innings, and everyone enjoyed the antics of Jake the Diamond Dog, a golden retriever who served at times as bat-boy and water-boy.

Thank you to the Hot Rods organization for hosting TCYAA, and also a big thanks to Jeanette Manzer of TCYAA for organizing this event.
