Fred Denny died of natural causes at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
He was born on March 27, 1929, in Cary to John and Mary Evelyn Early Denny.
Fred was retired from Lake Barkley State Resort Park and from General Motors. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Evelyn Denny.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jewell Harris Denny of Cadiz; one brother, Estel Denny of Ind.; one sister, Alice Denny; one daughter, Judy Pool of Cerulean; two sons, The Rev. Ted Denny (and wife Trish) of Clarksville, Tenn. and Bruce Denny of Clarksville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dana Michelle Denny Lannom, Kimberly Dawn Denny Owens, Michael David Denny, Matthew Douglas Denny, Aprile Brooke Denny, Ashley Anne Denny, Baylee Grace Denny, Stephen Andrew Lee Pool, Stephany Jewel Elece Pool and Andra Elece Lane Pool; great grandchildren Sara Beth Lannom, Joshua Martin Lannom, Kirsten Faith Owens, Kylee Hope Owens, Kenzie Grace Owens, Cali Alayah Elece Jones, Cashlin Evana Arie Jones and Spencer Allen Lee Pool.
Serving as pallbearers are Drew Pool, Seath Butts, Matthew Denny, Michael Denny, Jason Boyd and Brian Faubush. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Harris, Terry Sumner, Ty Wadlington, Bill Wood, Tommy Calhoun and Scott Owens. Music will be provided by Mark Harris, vocalist.
