The Trigg County Historical and Preservation Society, Inc., planned a second fundraising auction for Saturday morning to help raise money for renovations on the old Cadiz Masonic Lodge building.

But the auction, which was to be held at the Cadiz Baptist Church annex, was not well attended, although they did manage to raise $1,200, which means they have raised so far $20,000 of the $25,000 they need to help match the transportation grant, said David Shore of the Historical Society.

“We didn’t have the auction, but people would come in and express some interest, and we’d negotiate a price, and we sold a lot of stuff, so we may not do another one, because we just have a few things left, although that may change,” said Shore. “We’ve got some prints, but they’ll be hard to sell, and we might sell them at a yard sale or something later on.”

Items included Murray State University football box tickets for four for Oct. 5, a six-legged 50-year-old table, the Thomas Bridges Cookbook, a kitchen sink faucet from Light’s Plumbing & Electric, brass fireplace screen andrions and tool set with stand and gift certificates to places like Dave’s Barber Shop, El Bracero, Parker’s Quik Lube and Cranberry Creek Rustics.
