Betty Thomas died following a long illness of Alzheimer’s at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Signature Health Center in Clarksville, Tenn.
She was born on July 31, 1932, in Trigg County to Homer C. Henderson and Mamie Stallons Henderson.
Betty was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and a member of Oak Grove Women’s Fellowship Sunday School class. She retired after 30 years from Trigg County Health Department.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Thomas; brother Emmett Henderson; and sister Ruth Broadbent.
She is survived by one sister, Marie P’Pool of Cadiz; one daughter, Emily Diane Thomas Chestnut (and husband David) of Cadiz; two grandchildren, Lucas Thomas and Ashley Chestnut and Logan Charles and Kelly Chestnut, all of Cadiz; and one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Chestnut of Cadiz.
Serving as pallbearers were Don Pool, Don Ray Pool, Tommy P’Pool, Kenneth Oakley, Todd Alexander, Fred Wilson, Brendel Wilson, Skip Howe, Scott Bridges and Jonathan King. Music was provided by Becky Waldrup, vocalist and Clarissa King, pianist.
