‘Yahtzee!’ UK football coaches seek top recruits to change culture

It seems that long gone are the days of University of Kentucky’s struggles and futility in the football world. In my eyes, nothing makes this more evident than having the number one recruiting class in the country.

Since Marks Stoops’ hire on Nov. 27, 2012, Lexington and the rest of the Commonwealth have been abuzz.

I can go ahead and assure you that this is not going to be a turnaround like we saw in John Calipari’s first year as the leader of the basketball team. I can tell you that Coach Stoops is working hard every day to put a new product on the field. Even recruits are taking notice.

Here is something you probably thought you would never hear. It is now so cool and hip for kids to commit to the new UK football team that kids are saying they have committed, when in all actuality it is not true or they have yet to be offered a scholarship.

Maybe even more absurd is the way the coaches of UK’s new staff announce official commitments. They do so by taking to Twitter and tweeting “YAHTZEE!” No “YAHTZEE!” from the staff means no official commitment.

All of BBN (or Big Blue Nation) should take to social media as well and give Coach Stoops a huge “YAHTZEE!” Hopefully, UK has finally got the right guy to lead the helm, and just like many of you, I cannot wait to see the product on the field.
