Funeral services for Myra “Dean” Carr, 93, of Cadiz, were held on Friday, June 28, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Revs. Bill Fort, Kyle Noffsinger and members of VFW Post No. 74 Women’s Auxiliary officiated. Burial followed at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.

Myra Carr died Monday on June 24, 2013, at Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

Myra was a homemaker and a long time member of Cadiz Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was also a member of the Trigg County Homemaker’s Club, American Quilter’s Society, NARFE and the VFW Post No. 74 Women’s Auxiliary.

Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis W. Carr; father, Forrest Isum Guier; mother, Lucy Wilmoth Francis Guier; one brother, Richard Guier; one sister, Floella Carr; and two sisters in infancy.

She is survived by two brothers, Leslie Guier of Bowling Green and Troy Guier of Hopkinsville; three sisters, Jean Ferguson of Johnstown, Ohio, Mary Hunt of Bellair, Fla. and Virginia Underwood of Hopkinsville; one son, Jeff Carr (and wife Christi) of Paducah; two grandsons, John P. Carr and William J. Carr, both of Paducah; brother-in-law Garnett Carr of Hopkinsville and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers were John Carr, Will Carr, Monty Guier, Marty Guier, Eddie Underwood and Jim Mize. Honorary pallbearers were Bruce Ferguson, Jim Ferguson, Denny Mize, Jeff Hill, Earl Carr, Jesse Sumner and Jim Wallace. Music was provided by Mickey Watson, vocalist, and Gary Thompson, organist.
