Trigg VFW, Ladies Auxiliary attend State Convention in Louisville

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and its Ladies Auxiliary held their 2013 State Convention in Louisville June 19 – 23.

Several Trigg County residents received high honors at the convention.

Trigg County Middle School Teacher Denise Young and Trigg County High School Teacher Stephanie Gilbert were both honored as the Kentucky VFW Teacher of the Year, in the Middle School and High School categories respectively. Both Ms. Young and Ms. Gilbert will compete at the VFW National level representing the State of Kentucky.

Trigg County High School student Savannah Young was the Kentucky winner of the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. Miss Young’s Art entry was on display in Washington, D.C., along with the art of the winners from the other States.
