James Adams died following a long illness at 7:25 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his home in Cadiz.
James was born on March 9, 1942, in Hopkins County to the late George “Coke” Adams and Ruby Gault Adams.
James was a retired coal miner and was a member of South Union Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Betty Miller; and two brothers, Bobby and Darrell Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Alvie Sue Adams of Cadiz; two brothers, William “Bill” Adams (and wife Virginia) of Morganfield and Richard Adams (and wife Debbie) of Ashland, Ohio; one daughter, Mary Denise Adams Hopson of Cadiz; two sons, Maurice Allen Walker (and wife Theresa) of Cadiz and Christopher Michael Ray Walker (and wife Amy) of Slaughters; five grandchildren, Jessica Ann Walker of Kuttawa, Sean Michael Cooper of Hopkinsville, Kelsey Lee Walker of Evansville, Ind., Matthew Allen Wagner of Cadiz and Sean Brogan Walker of Slaughters; and one great-grandchild, Sebastian Xavier Howell of Evansville, Ind.
