Trigg County High School has filled three more positions within the athletic department.

One week after being hired as the new head coach of the girls basketball team, Russell Malone has also been selected as assistant athletic director, TCHS principal Shannon Burcham said.

Other hirings confirmed during Monday’s site-based council meeting included Robin Martin as girls soccer assistant coach and Casey Banister as volleyball assistant coach.

Martin, a teacher in the Trigg school system, joins a staff led by second-year head coach Rosebud Pennington.

Banister, a 2009 TCHS grad and former volleyball standout, will assist Julian Williams, a former assistant who was promoted to head coach last week. Banister is a recent Western Kentucky University grad.

Burcham said a new boys soccer assistant coach will be hired soon, as will a new head coach for the softball team.
