Cadiz City Clerk Lisa Rogers said the surgery went well but took longer than expected, and that Bailey was tired and weak on Sunday. She said he had gone to the emergency room at Trigg County Hospital last Tuesday with fluid in his heart, after which he was sent to Vanderbilt.
Bailey is expected to stay in the Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt for a couple of days, after which he will be moved to a regular room. He could come home by the end of the week, but he won’t be able to drive for another five or six weeks, Rogers said.
Bailey has had a leaking valve for several years, and has undergone several tests over the past several months.
