The Way, a Christian-based youth recreation center, is closed because of a potential property purchase agreement involving a retail business.

Carl Heckmann, representative for The Way, said the date given to vacate the building is Sunday, Aug. 11. He also said that the facility is already closed, and that packing has begun, with most of the packing scheduled for completion on Thursday from 5 – 9 p.m.

“We are attempting to get a small extension to evacuation time frame which would allow us additional time to find a temporary location for the ministry and avoid an unnecessary temporary move to a storage location,” said Heckmann.

Heckman says The Way will continue, and that the only discussion is about when and where it will be continued.

“The Way Board of Directors and Long Range Planning Committee have been working diligently for some time to identify both short and long range homes for The Way,” said Heckmann.
