To the editor:

Pertaining to animals killed on the roads and tutles attmpting to cross the road: Too often I happen to notice folks running over the dead animals on the roads or turtles try to cross the road, when they could easily straddle or scoot over a bit to keep from doing so. I do hope running over them is not being done deliberately, but do feel more ofter than not it is.

I am not saying cause a wreck to straddle or scoot over a bit – sometimes one cannot avoid running over the animal due to traffic, bicyclists or pedestrians. Would we run over a dead human body? Of course not. Then why do it to a dead animal or a turtle attempting to cross the road? They too have families!
