Trigg golfers open 2013 season with solid rounds at Daviess, Mayfield, Paducah

Trigg County High School’s golf team opened its season Aug. 2 at the Daviess County Invitational at Ben Hawes Golf Course in Owensboro.

The Wildcats finished seventh out of 20 teams with a total score of 322, 17 strokes behind the winner, host Daviess County’s red team.

Nick Choate led Trigg players with a score of 74, three strokes behind winner Will Foreman. Other Trigg golfers included Cole Gardner (78), Carter Sholar (85) and Kullen Garner (85).

Last Tuesday, Trigg’s boys (143) defeated Mayfield (150) and Christian Fellowship School (206) at Mayfield-Graves Country Club.
