A loss to Henderson County in the 2012 2nd Region Championship left Trigg County boys soccer head coach Josh Nichols sitting on 99 wins. The Wildcats wasted little time in helping him to 100 as they topped Fort Campbell 5-1 in Monday’s 2013 season opener.

“It’s hard to believe,” Nichols, in his 11th season as head coach, said of the milestone. “It’s a testament to the caliber of players we’ve had that we’ve been able to win consistently over the last 6 or so years. Each group raises the bar and challenges the guys coming up after them to keep the program rolling. I’m very thankful to have had the opportunity to work with so many great kids and their families.”

Ben Wigand and Troy Alexander each had two goals and an assist, Clark Adams added the other goal, Seth McNichols recorded an assist and Austin Calhoun recorded nine saves in the victory.
