This was the latest milestone in the almost $25 million project, with construction going on since May, and of that $25 million, $7.8 million is allocated for the testing, Todd said. The Lagoon Bridge is the first part of a four-lane replacement bridge over all of Kentucky Lake. Todd says that if all goes well, they could seek bids on the new Eggner Ferry Bridge late this year or early next year, with work on the new Lawrence Memorial Bridge over Lake Barkley starting about a year after work starts on the new Eggner Ferry Bridge.
“The Lagoon Bridge project is a very significant portion of what they’re doing out there,” said Todd, who explained how the testing worked.
