Trigg County couldn’t maintain the momentum of a quick start in Friday’s 41-21 loss against Russellville in the 2013 season-opener for both schools.

The Wildcats (0-1) struck first when Jayven Jones, after a 58-yard kickoff return to start the game, capped Trigg’s first scoring drive with a five-yard touchdown run.

From there, the Wildcat highlights stopped for quite a while as Russellville (1-0) scored 41 straight points to take command of the game.

With the game out of reach, Trigg quarterback Luke McKenzie and wide receiver Reggie Radford put on a show to end the game. Radford’s first catch of the season was a 32-yard touchdown, and he scored on a 35-yarder with 1:36 left in the game. In between those was another pair of grabs for Radford, including an acrobatic one-handed catch.
