Trigg County’s girls soccer team split its first four games of the 2013 season and is currently tied for the lead in the 5th District.

Trigg lost 12-3 last Monday against Fort Campbell before topping district foe Lyon County 5-0 last Tuesday.

Brittany Shafer scored the first two goals for Trigg, the second on an assist by Hannah Futrell, who later scored on an assist by Meghan Green. Futrell added two more scores in the second half, one assisted by Shafer. Natalie Crane recorded the shutout in goal for Trigg.

“This is an important win for us, especially with Lyon losing to Crittenden,” Trigg head coach Rosebud Pennington-Hodges said. “We made great passes and actually used what we work on in practice in the game."
