Linda Caldwell (left) of Woodmen of the World and Trigg County Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander stand next to the Flag of Honor/Flag of Heroes project honoring those who lost their lives in terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C. on Sept. 11, 2001.

The flag features the names of each victim, including Linda Sheehan, who had a brother and family in Trigg County at the time of the attacks, as well as a former student of Steve Darnall.

Woodmen of the World will hold In Honor and Remembrance ceremonies across the country in September. Cadiz Lodge No. 20 will hold its ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Senior Citizens Center entrance on Joy Lane.

The flag pole will be re-dedicated and a new flag raised. Woodmen invites everyone to attend. Caldwell said the event will also be held in memory of former Trigg County Emergency Management Director Randy Wade, who passed away recently.
