Choat was found at his home on New Hope Road by a friend on March 18, 2008. On Tuesday, Sept. 3, of this year, the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about Hooks, and he was interviewed by the KSP and TSCO, said the report.
The KSP obtained an arrest warrant for capital murder based on that interview and on new evidence that connects Hooks to the murder, the report added.
Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam said he couldn’t comment on the specifics of the new evidence that resulted in Hooks’ arrest for the murder. He did, however, say he was in Owensboro for two days, and reported all the evidence to the KSP and to 56th Circuit Commonwealth’s Attorney G.L. Ovey.
