Another milestone in Barkley Lake Regional Water District’s Cerulean expansion project was reached Monday afternoon.

When the board met, they approved a resolution to use Rubin and Hayes as the bond counsel, or bond attorneys, on the expansion project. “They’re the same bond counsel we use on all our projects. They’re familiar with the industry,” said Barkley Lake Regional Water District Manager Terry Goins.

Bids for that infrastructure improvement project could be open by mid-November, he has said.

The biggest advantage for the improvement project, Goins said, will be that power outages won’t result in water outages for the roughly 500 customers in Cerulean and Gracey. He explained that the pump feed will be replaced by a gravity feed from a larger 300,000 gallon tank, which will be installed at a much higher elevation.
