She was born on May 31, 1932, in Caldwell County. She was a homemaker and a member of Canton Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James T. “Jim” Boren of Cadiz; three sons, David and wife Beth of Cadiz, John Boren of Pensacola, Fla. and Stephen and wife Lisa of Hopkinsville; sister Louise Ortt of Hopkinsville; sister-in-law Robbie Mitchell of Princeton; grandchildren Wesley Boren of Hopkinsville, Meagan Lynn and Jared White of Pensacola, Fla., and Kayla Danielle Boren of Pensacola, Fla.; one great granddaughter, Audrey Elizabath White of Pensacola, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Mitchell, and a sister, Janet Richardson. Her parents were Loyd Peyton and Lena May Rowland Mitchell.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, at King’s Funeral Home. The Revs. Paul Cannon and Damian Phillips officiated. Burial followed at the Canton Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Mitchell, Phillip Mitchell, Chase Mitchell, Chris McCarthy, Gary McCarthy and Mike Finley. Honorary pallbearer was Kenny Ortt.
Music was performed by the Canton Baptist Church Choir along with Dianne Hill, vocalist; Betty Oakley, organist; and Clarissa King, pianist.
