Funeral services for L.I. Martin, Jr., 92, of Cadiz, were held on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Don Bunch officiated. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Martin died of natural causes at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013m at his home in Cadiz.

Lethal Irvin, Jr. was born on Aug. 28, 1921, in Trigg County to the late Lethal Irvin and Ethel Larkins Martin, Sr.

He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where he had served on the board. He was a farmer. He had also served on the Trigg County Hospital board, served as Farm Bureau Director and on the ASC Committee.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh Martin and James Franklin Martin; and three sisters, Edna Shelton, Lucy McAtee and Manthus McAtee.

Lethal is survived by his wife of 69 years, Nila “Billie” Martin of Cadiz; two sons, Conrad Martin (and wife Norma) of Cadiz and Larry Martin (and wife Lora) of Keystone, S.D.; and two grandchildren, Joshua Martin and Lorrie Loft.

Serving as pallbearers were Josh Martin, Wayne McAtee, Scott Bridges, Denny Wynn, Tony Malone and Ronnie Cook. Music was provided by Beth Taylor, pianist. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, % Bank of Cadiz, P.O. Box 2020, Cadiz, KY 42211.
