Mr. Mitchell died of natural causes at 3:40 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on April 17, 1937, in Trigg County to the late Woodrow WIlson Mitchell and Nellie Irene Litchfield Mitchell.
He was a logger, cattleman and a farmer, and he was a member of Liberty Point Baptist Church and of the Wildhaired Hilltoppers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Noble “Buddy” Mitchell, Kenneth “Pete” Mitchell and Owen Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Zepha Mitchell of Cadiz; sons and daughters-in-law Tony and Kim Mitchell, Stoney and Kim Mitchell, all of Cadiz; daughter and son-in-law Denese and Kenny Turner of Cadiz; sisters and brother-in-law Linda and Frank Gibbs of cadiz and Brenda Wallace of Big Rock, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Heather and Glenn Pellegrino of Austin Texas, Thomas Woodrow and Lindsey Mitchell of Cadiz, Braylin Mitchell of Cadiz, Briley Mitchell of Cadiz, Heather and Heath Dawson of Cadiz and Kenny Ray Turner of cadiz; five great-grandchildren, Ava and Ela Pellegrino of Austin, Texas, Layne Mitchell of Cadiz and Billy Ray and Christian Dawson of Cadiz.
Pallbearers are Tony MItchell, Stoney Mitchell, Thomas Mitchell, Kenny Turner, Lenny Underhill, Larry MItchell, Mike Wallace and Charles Litchfield. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class of Liberty Point Baptist Church.
