Kentucky is ready to enroll over 640,000 Kentuckians who are currently uninsured – online, by phone, by kiosk, by mail and in person. For more information, individuals can go to kynect.ky.gov or call 1-855-4kynect (459-6328) TTY: 1-855-326-4654.
Kynect is a program run by the Kentucky Office of the Health Benefit Exchange within the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Federal law requires each state to have an online health insurance marketplace, beginning in October, 2013, to ensure that all Americans have access to affordable quality healthcare.
Kynect makes it easier for individuals, employees of small businesses and small businesses (if they choose to insure their employees) to shop for health insurance based on price and quality.
The kynect web site is an excellent place for individuals and families to get the straight facts about new health care reforms, how it will work and who is eligible for assistance in purchasing health insurance. In addition, the national web site, healthcare.gov is a good place to learn about the Affordable Care Act and how it will affect individuals and families.
