Local legislators were on hand in Cadiz Thursday evening to talk about issues that will be discussed in the Kentucky General Assembly during its 2014 session, which is about three months away.

District One State Senator Stan Humphries (R), District Five State Representative Kenny Imes (R) and District Eight State Representative John Tilley (D) were all at the Cadiz Renaissance Center to speak to constituents during a Cadiz-Trigg County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours program.

Tilley – who by far spoke the longest – said that between Humphries, Imes and himself, Trigg County is well represented, and that unlike politicians in Washington, D.C., they and other politicians in Frankfort are working and talking together about issues that affect the state.

“I think Trigg County’s in very good shape,” said Tilley. “I haven’t known Kenny that long, but I mean we’ve hit it off. We are talking about west Kentucky issues and Trigg County issues, and we have a very strong network of people now, not just Kenny and me and Stan, but others who believe that we ought to look at what’s happening in west Kentucky, and certainly the Commonwealth overall. And I think that’s important, party aside.”
