SOCCER: ‘Cats top St. Mary for ninth win; Lady ‘Cats set for Senior Night next Wednesday

Trigg County’s boys soccer team went 1-1-1 in a stretch of three recent games.

Thursday, the Wildcats notched a 5-5 tie at Christian County. Ben Wigand led Trigg with three goals. Ean Sholar added a goal and an assist, Clark Adams scored a goal and Clarke Boyd had an assist.

Saturday, Trigg lost 3-1 at Calloway County. Wigand scored Trigg’s only goal on an assist by Troy Alexander.

Monday, Trigg improved its record to 9-3-2 with a 5-1 win at St. Mary. Adams had three goals and an assist to lead Trigg. Alexander and Sholar each scored a goal, Zeb DeHart had two assists and Benson Stallons added a helper.

Trigg was set to host Senior Night against Union County on Tuesday (results unavailable at press time) before playing Saturday at University Heights Academy and Monday at Hopkins County Central and hosting Hopkinsville next Tuesday.
