Funeral services for Dorothy Gray Monday, 85, of Cadiz, were held on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville. The Rev. John Mitchell officiated. Burial followed in the Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Dorothy Monday died following a long illness at 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Spring Creek Healthcare in Murray.

Dorothy was born on March 9, 1928, in Lyon County to R.C. and Geneva Evelyn Lady Gray.

She was a member of Trigg County Baptist Church and was a retired florist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Monday; sister Charlene Gray; brother Leonard Hylan Gray; step-son Jimmy Monday; step-daughters Frances Gann and Helen Worshem; and grandchild Macaela Duncan.

Dorothy is survived by brother Carney Gray of Eddyville; two sons, Collis Duncan (and wife Phyllis) of Benton and Jackie Duncan (and wife Helen) of Hopkinsville; grandchildren Jackie Duncan, II, Tresa Towery, Leslie Fox and Cassie Duncan; six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Roy Monday, Mitche Monday, Matt Monday, Dean Colston, Bill Colston and Frank Tornatore. Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Neal Duncan and Travis Duncan.
