“The lodge appearance has become tired and worn, accommodation furnishings are worn and outdated and the campground sites are un-leveled and too small for modern campers,” said an SCPA press release. “We are asking for $3 million to be designated for design and construction funds to help renovate Lake Barkley and the Campground.
At a Wednesday morning press conference at the Hopkinsville Community College, SPCA members unveiled nine priorities for next year’s legislative session. The regional chamber group is comprised of members from Trigg, Christian and Todd counties.
Trigg County Judge Executive Hollis Alexander, Christian County Judge Executive Steve Tribble and Todd County Judge Executive Daryl Greenfield were among those present. Alexander noted that 1.4 million people visit LBL every year and said the facelift for the state park has been a long time coming.
