Thomas Gothard died following a short illness at 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Trigg County Hospital.
Thomas was born on Aug. 30, 1950, in Independence, Kan., to Jack and Ruby Stevenson Gothard.
Thomas was of the Baptist faith. He was an international freight pilot, a member of the VFW and a United States Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruby Gothard.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 22 years, Anita Gothard of Cadiz; brother Jack Gothard, Jr. of Valentine, Neb.; two sisters, Nancy Mosley of Huntsville, Ala. and Eunice Thaler of Roswell, N.M.; two sons, Morgan Gothard (and wife Lorayne) of Houston, Texas and Jason Ward (and wife Natasha) of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; four daughters, Sara Gothard of Boston, Mass., Kathleen Whitfield (and husband Jason) of Bowling Green, Christina Ward of Walnut Ridge, Ark. and Dawn Turner (and husband Jeremy) of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Emily Huff, Eric Huff, Devyn Burton, Brandon Jones, Zoe Gothard, Walker Ward, Dawson Ward, Jared Black and Mia Gothard; one great –granddaughter, Isabella Ward, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Morgan Gothard, Jason Ward, Jeremy Turner, Jeremy Ward, Eric Huff and Bob Williams.
