Funeral services for Austin “Jack” Clawson III, 84, of Cadiz, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. The Rev. Scott Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in the East End Cemetery in Cadiz. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Austin Clawson III died of natural causes at 8:37 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Princeton Health and Rehab Center in Princeton.

Austin was born on May 24, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., to Austin Clawson II and Louise Tenney Howe.

Mr. Clawson was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Hopkinsville. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years in retail clothing and also worked as an interior/exterior decorator.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jane McAtee Clawson; step father Harold Howe; two step-brothers, Bruce and William Howe; and son John Allen Clawson.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Clarence Clawson (and wife Heather) of Antioch, Calif. and James Austin Clawson of Cadiz; grandchildren Austin Clawson, Janie Clawson, Julia Clawson and Joshua Sturgill; and one great-grandchild.
