Paul, who joined District One State Senator Stan Humphries (R) and District Five State Representative Kenny Imes (R) and 50 other people, said more talking between the Republican and Democratic parties in Washington, D.C., would probably help, but also noted that there are significant disagreements between the two parties.
“We need to have more conversations,” Paul said. When an audience member asked what it would take for the two parties to speak to one another, a fellow audience member replied, “A miracle!”
The Junior Senator – Senator Mitch McConnell (R) is Kentucky’s Senior Senator – talked about the federal debt, overseas spending, the shutdown and a bill that he’s proposing that would reduce the tax rates of people in counties with high unemployment. He also took questions from the audience.
