With the Trigg County Fiscal Court’s approval, additional work on the Trigg County Health and Wellness Center and the Cadiz Masonic Lodge building can begin.

At their Monday evening meeting at the Extension Office, magistrates unanimously chose Southland Constructors, a Brentwood, Tenn., contractor. At $562,000, they had the low bid on expansion of the Trigg County Health and Wellness Center.

Russellville-based C & C Contracting bid $590,500, Bowling Green-based Scott, Murphy & Daniel bid $600,772 and Paducah-based B.H. Green & Son bid $618,549. Amy Frogue with the Pennyrile Area Development District said they recommended Southland Constructors, as they are the low bidder, and added that the completion period is 122 calendar days.

“The (Trigg County) Hospital Board met last Thursday and approved this as well,” Frogue told magistrates. “But since you all are the grant recipient, that contract will be between the county and the contractor, and not the hospital.”
