Chapter 1730 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) met on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, in the Cadiz Senior Center.

President Richard Pauze welcomed two new members – Mrs. Pat Albright and Mrs. Kathleen Johnson. Invocation was given by Chapter Chaplain Clyde Weaver, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Guest Speaker was Mrs. Edith Lewis Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Pennyrile Allied Community Services, Inc. located on 1100 Liberty St. in Hopkinsville. She can be reached by calling 270-886-6341 toll free 1-800-264-0643. There is no charge for the service.

Senior Medicare Patrol’s mission is to assist Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers and families to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse. Lewis says that one should never give the Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security numbers to strangers.
