For Shari Littlejohn of the church’s Community Thanksgiving Meal Planning Committee, it isn’t just about the church organizing it, and it’s so everyone can eat with others on Thanksgiving and isn’t just for people who can’t afford a good Thanksgiving dinner.
“It’s really a community thing, we just kind of head it up. It’s really a community Thanksgiving. It takes everybody to do it, it’s not just our association,” said Littlejohn. “It originally started … so that people would not have eat alone on Thanksgiving.”
Littlejohn says that while dining at the CBC is encouraged, they also will do deliveries, as some aren’t able to get out, but people have to call the church at 522-7066 by 12 noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
