CROSS COUNTRY: Trigg runs at Union, preps for region championship meet Saturday at Marshall

Trigg County High School’s cross country team competed Saturday at Union County’s Arrowhead All-Comers meet.

Trigg’s varsity boys team was the only Trigg team to field enough runners for a team score, and they finished second behind Madisonville-North Hopkins.

Individual runners were Ethan Dossett (eighth, 19:11.2), Matthew Chinn (ninth, 19:15.9), John Chinn (15th, 20:58), Caleb Martin (21:35.1) and Dallas Ahart (23rd, 23:14.7).

In the varsity girls race, Trigg’s runners were Bethany Morgan (fifth, 24:01.9), Breanna Barnes (sixth, 24:10.1), Gracie Hill (eighth, 24:51.1) and Libby Redd (10th, 25:45.2).

Trigg returns to action Saturday at Marshall County in the Class AA 1st Region Championship. Qualifying teams and individuals will move on to the state championship Nov. 9 at the Lexington Horse Park.
