Trigg County students receive Community Foundation scholarships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a charitable organization connecting generosity with need, announces it is awarding 255 scholarships to students - including three in Cadiz - pursuing secondary education at accredited schools throughout the United States.

A total of $423,770 is being awarded to students from more than 70 scholarship funds within The Community Foundation.

Three students received the Cadiz Rotary Club Rise Carol Thompson Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established originally through the Rotary Club of Cadiz, Ky., by Brent and Dot Thompson in memory of their daughter, Rise Carol, a student at Vanderbilt University who passed away in an automobile accident.

Below are the 2013 scholarship recipients of the Cadiz Rotary Club Rise Carol Thompson Memorial Scholarship:

Ms. Aubree R. Burcham was awarded the scholarship to attend University of Louisville.

Ms. Hanna L. Gorman was awarded the scholarship to attend Liberty University.

Mr. Austin P. Hart was awarded the scholarship to attend University of Kentucky.
