Anthony McGee died from injuries sustained in a logging accident on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Anthony was born on Feb. 24, 1953, in Hopkinsville to Monroe McGee and Elizabeth Ann Stewart McGee.
Anthony was a member of New Light Baptist Church. He was a retired correctional officer from Mt. Pleasant Treatment Center in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Ann McGee.
Anthony is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sharon McGee of Gracey; two brothers, James Michael Stewart (and wife Diane) of Gracey and Joe Stewart (and wife Dawn) of Cadiz; two sons, Jason McGee of Christian County and Chris McGee (and wife Dixie) of Brandenburg; one daughter, Jennifer McGee (and Chris Knight) of Christian County; seven grandchildren, Breanne McGee, Brooklyn McGee, Bethany Knight, Mikayla McGee, Elizabeth McGee, Jack McGee and Amelia McGee.
Serving as pallbearers were Melvin Choate, Dion Fox, Destry Sanchez, Levi Morris, Roman Cail, Jeffery Hyde, Cliff Gray and Chris Williams. Honorary pallbearers were James Michael Stewart, Joe Stewart, Bryan Morris and Darwin Earl Stewart. Music was provided by Peggy Hendricks, pianist and The Miller and Goodwin Family Vocalist.
