Trigg County will send eight runners to this weekend’s KHSAA Class 2A state cross country meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

Trigg’s girls team finished fourth out of seven teams at Saturday’s 1st Region Championship meet, while Ethan Dossett and Austin Pugh qualified from the boys team.

Trigg’s girls runners at the region meet were Bethany Morgan (17th, 23:01.2), Breanna Barnes (25th, 24:39), Gracie Hill (27th, 24:53.1), Libby Redd (29th, 25:45.5) and Koryn Hatfield (33rd, 26:27.9). Heather Hall will join that group of Lady Wildcats at the state meet.

In the boys region race, Dossett (12th, 18:56.4) and Pugh (18th, 19:19.9) finished with times good enough to qualify them for state as individual competitors.
