A private memorial service for Martha Lantrip, 90, of Madisonville, formerly of Cadiz, were held at the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Burial followed the ceremony. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Martha Lantrip died of natural causes at 6:33 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Baptist Health in Paducah.

Martha was born on Jan. 29, 1923, in Hopkins County to Walter and Mary Elizabeth Gunn Farmer.

Mrs. Martha Lantrip was a member of Cadiz Baptist Church where she was a member in WMU. She was a retired sales clerk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amon Lantrip; brother James Lloyd Farmer; and sister Ola Mae Crider.

Martha is survived by two sisters, Mary Frances Ashby of Madisonville and Betty Lyons of Murray; one daughter, Martha Whelan of Madisonville; one step-grandchild Shannon DeVoga of Euless, Texas; and four step-great-grandchildren.
