Charles was born on July 22, 1924, in West Palm Beach, Fla. He moved to Trigg County in 1928. He attended a one-room school from grades 1 – 8 and was a 1943 graduate of Trigg County High School. Upon graduation he entered the United States Air Corp. Charles attended Creighton University for two years. He learned to fly Piper Club single engine planes. Charles flew in many planes and was trained to fly B29s as a flight engineer.
Charles left the United States Air Corp. in 1946 and worked in the grocery business for 39 years. He and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the United States, Europe, Central America and the Caribbean.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Kathryn Lynch; his sister Jeanne Burroughs; brother Glen Cameron; and son Charles Ventura.
Charles is survived by one sister, Kat Noel of Cadiz; his sons, George Ventura (and wife Geraldine) and Joe Ventura (and wife Susie); six grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher, Matthew, Rebecca, Andrew and Alexander; and three great-grandchildren, Colton, Sophie and Laura.
