William Stewart died on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at his home in Cadiz.
Mr. Stewart retired after 30 years from Airco Alloys in Calvert City. He was a World War II United States Navy veteran, a life long farmer, and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bryant Stewart and Ethel Mitchell Stewart; two brothers, Charles “Pete” Stewart and Troy Stewart; two sisters, Eunice Futrell and Charlotte Adams; and one son, William Darrell Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mayme “Pete” Stewart Skinner Stewart of Cadiz; one son, Ronnie Stewart (and wife Betty) of Cadiz; one daughter, Rita Swift (and husband Dale) of Dover, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Dana and Derek Earhart, Holli and Donnie Dill, Caroline Stewart, Jonathan and Jaime Stewart and Shon “Chunk” Stewart; nine great-grandchildren, Whitni and Jesse Kriwox, Ryan Earhart, Cole Earhart, Carlee Dill, Carissa Dill, Te Stewart, Bre Moss, Mikayla Moss and Logan Stewart; and one great-great-grandchild, Dawson Earhart.
Serving as active pallbearers were Derek Earhart, Donnie Dill, Jonathan Stewart, Shon “Chunk” Stewart, Ryan Earhart and Cole Earhart. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Carr, Glenn Hensley, Tommy P’Pool, Jodi P’Pool, Jesse Cameron, Gaylon Sumner, Robert Allen, Stan Brimmer, Clint P’Pool, Kenneth Alexander and Malcolm Ray Thomas. Music was provided by June Cobb and Shelia Lancaster.
