Another magistrate on the Trigg County Fiscal Court have filed for another term of office, and one magisterial race is now contested.

District Six Magistrate Larry Lawrence (D) has filed to run on Thursday, Dec. 5, said Trigg County Clerk Dorris McGill. He is the fifth magistrate to file so far; there are seven on the Fiscal Court. He joins District Five Magistrate Richard Nelson (R), District One Magistrate Mike Wright (D), District Four Magistrate Jeff Broadbent (D) and District Seven Magistrate Donnie Tyler (D).

And on Monday, John T. Gray filed to run as a Democrat in District Five, McGill said. If both he and Nelson win in the May Primary Election, they will face one another in the November General Election.
