In last Tuesday’s 80-22 win over Dawson Springs, starting center Brien Dossett suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee when he landed awkwardly after a dunk during the first quarter. Trigg head coach Payton Croft confirmed that Dossett will miss the remainder of his senior season.
“Brien is one of those kids that has put the time in and worked hard,” Croft said. “You hate to see any kid get hurt, but when it’s a good kid like that who has worked hard and deserves a good year, it makes your heart drop.”
Croft said Dossett will remain with the team this season and is still likely to receive an offer to play at the collegiate level.
“I wish he could play this year because these seniors are like brothers, and when they saw him go down, it really hurt them,” Croft said.
