Funeral services for Walden Adams, 87, of Cadiz, were held on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Ronnie Sivells officiated. Burial with full military honors followed in the Adams Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Adams died on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz.

Walden Adams was a life long farmer, a member of Caldwell Blue Spring Baptist Church, American Legion Post No. 74, Woodmen of the World and was a United States Army World War II veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Nell Adams; parents, Ben F. Adams and Nell Harriet Robertson Adams; brother Aubrey Howard Adams and sister Jane Adams Mitchell.

Mr. Adams is survived by four brothers, Decatur Adams of Hopkinsville, Walter “Mort”Alva Adams of Cadiz, Jessie Wayne Adams of Cadiz and David Ronald Adams of Madisonville; four sisters, Linda Adams of Cadiz, Iva Nell Adams West of Cadiz, Martha Caroline Adams Lumpkin (and husband James) of Little Rock, Ark., and Bettie Lou Adams Herndon (and husband Layton) of Cadiz.

Serving as active pallbearers were Jessie Adams, Tommy Adams, Mort Adams, Chris West, Tyke West and David West. Music was provided by Dana West.
