The Festival of Trees is on view at the Janice Mason Art Museum now through Jan. 3, 2014. This annual favorite includes trees decorated by local merchants and organizations.

As part of this year’s festival, the Museum is hosting a “Communi-Tree” and invites everyone in the community to bring their own ornament to hang. Ornaments should be labeled with name and contact information if they are to be returned at the close of the festival.

The community was invited to an open house for the Festival of Trees this past Saturday, Dec. 14, 2 – 4 p.m. to enjoy cookies, cider, and the beautiful display. A special drop-in ornament making class for children also took place on Saturday, Dec. 14, 3 – 5 p.m., following the Christmas Parade. The class was free and children could place their ornament on the Museum’s “Communi-Tree” or take it home.

The Museum will also be hosting their monthly Make & Mingle event on Thursday, Dec. 19, 4 – 6 p.m. Participants will make festive gift toppers and paper for unique holiday wrapping.
