Janie Oliver died on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at her home in Cadiz.
She retired from Johnson Controls in Cadiz. Janie attended Canton Baptist Church and was a co-sponsor of the Annual Toy for Tots Trail Ride fundraiser in Trigg County.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard “Pete” Mitchell; parents Sanford Frazier Williams and Lillie Mae Gresham Williams; and two sons, Willard Mitchell, Jr., and Gordon Mitchell.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Oliver of Cadiz; three brothers, Jimmy Williams (and wife Bonnie) of Cadiz, Billy Williams (and wife Julie) of Monee, Ill. and J.D. Williams (and wife Sheila) of Cadiz; three sisters, Ruby Hyde, Katie Crider (and husband Verne), all of Cadiz and Mary Lou Campbell of Hopkinsville; one son, Greg Mitchell (and wife Melissa); foster son J.R. Houha; step-son Michael Oliver (and wife Christy), all of Cadiz; step-daughter Missy LeFan (and husband Jay) of Eddyville; six grandchildren, Megan Mitchell, Caleb Mitchell, Cody Autry, Courtney Oliver, Lauren Oliver and Ty LeFan.
Serving as active pallbearers were Craig Banister, Anthony Fourshee, Paul Hyde, David Hyde, Terry Williams, Dylon Campbell, Jessie Frye and J.R. Houha. Music was provided by Dianne Hill, vocalist, Beth Taylor, pianist and Myra Montgomery, organist.
