The deadline for voters to change political party affiliation and still be eligible to vote in the May Primary passes Tuesday, said Trigg County Clerk Dorris McGill.

As the clerk’s office is closed Tuesday, voters may obtain a voter registration card online at and mail it to the clerk’s office. Cards containing party changes must be postmarked on or before Dec. 31 for the voter to be eligible to vote in the May Primary.

First-time voters or voters who need to make an address change will have to do so on or before April 21 – 30 days before the Primary Election.

In filing news, District Six Constable Dennis Whitten (D) has filed to run for a third term. He is the first of the county’s three constables to file to run for re-election – the other two being District One Constable Mark Carr and District Three Constable George Colbert – and the first person so far to file.
